Pasiansi Wildlife Training Institute (PWTI) was established in 1966 under Section 96 of the Wildlife Conservation Act (WCA) No. 5 of 2009. By then the WCA was known as Fauna Conservation Ordinance of 1959 Cap 302. In 2020, the Institute received an Establishment Order through Government Notice No. 465. PWTI is a well renowned center for paramilitary training to game scouts/rangers in the wildlife sub-sector in Tanzania. In 2002 the Institute was registered by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) and is fully accredited. The Institute offers two programs under the National Technical Award (NTA) system. The courses offered include Basic Technician Certificate in Wildlife Management and Law Enforcement (BTCWLE - NTA Level 4) and Technician Certificate in Wildlife Management and Law Enforcement (TCWLE - NTA Level 5).
